HUR New Zealand is the authorised distributor for HUR, the Finnish company behind pneumatic strength equipment and HUR SmartTouch™. We help New Zealand facilities choose and plan HUR equipment for active ageing, rehabilitation and inclusive exercise.
Air resistance with Natural Transmission™
HUR strength machines use air pressure rather than a stack of weights. Natural Transmission™ combines this resistance with a lever system designed around muscle movement. Low starting loads and small resistance changes help staff set a suitable starting point and progression for each person. Discuss starting resistance, progression and adjustment with your exercise team. Select the equipment configuration around the people using it and the support available during sessions.
HUR SmartTouch™ links individual exercise programmes with compatible equipment. A card or wristband identifies the user and loads their programme. Session records help staff review exercise and plan the next step. Automatic adjustments depend on the machine and its configuration. Consider how staff will set up programmes and review recorded sessions. Confirm compatible equipment, software options and licensing when planning your installation.
Planning may involve a new studio, a refurbishment or replacing one machine. For a New Zealand retirement village, clinic or community gym, start with who will use the space, how sessions will run and where people need to move. Build the equipment selection around that brief. Include doors, circulation routes and supervision needs in the brief. Equipment dimensions and access clearances need to be checked against the final room plan before ordering.
